There are several areas of the body where the skin ages faster than the skin in other areas. The back of the hands is one of those areas.
Just think for a moment about all the substances we expose our hands to on a daily basis. Cleaning products, multiple hand washings, hand sanitizers, wind, sun and so on. Our hands are constantly beat up by natural and un-natural elements.
So how do we keep our hands from looking older than they are?
Daily sun protection on the back of the hands is a must. The hands are exposed to the sun’s harmful rays throughout the year. When we are driving, the hands are in the direct line of the sunlight. The windows of our vehicles only intensify the strength of the sun causing more damage. This creates a need for sun protection all year long.
Exfoliation is also important for the back of the hands. As we age, our natural ability to shed the dead skin cells to reveal the new cells underneath slows down. This leaves skin with an ashy, dull look. Natural exfoliants help speed up this process, leaving skin looking fresh and youthful again.
Moisture is the essential element in keeping our skin young. This requires a lotion that is able to pull moisture into the layers of the skin. Use a moisturizer that has quality ingredients to achieve this goal. Avoid moisturizers that are just a combination of oil and water, these only sit on top the skin making them ineffective as a moisturizer.
Follow the above three requirements and enjoy younger looking hands.
