Our Aging Skin

As much as we try to deny it, our skin starts showing signs of aging while we are still in our twenties.

These signs include a slight dulling of the skin, fine lines, and some loss of elasticity.

The signs only increase as we age, unless we start taking preventative steps at this time, we are setting ourselves up for a battle later one.

The old saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is the perfect attitude to take with our skin.

The sooner we start taking care of our skin by proper cleansing, toning and moisturizing. The longer it will take for the first signs of aging to appear.

Proper cleansing consists of using the cleanser for your skin type without harsh chemicals. Using a gentle circular motion with warm water, rub the cleanser over face to loosen make-up and debris that has accumulated on the skin. Rinse well.

The circular motion massages the skin increasing the blood circulation to the skin. This helps rejuvenate the skin.

Warm water helps to remove the dirt trapped in your pores. This prevents the appearance of enlarged pores. (Avoid HOT water, this will just damage the skin)

Pores do not have muscles to keep them closed. They appear larger or smaller based on how much debris is trapped inside them.

Fresheners are necessary to restore the ph balance of the skin. The proper ph balance protects the skin from bacteria.

Every skin type needs to use a moisturizer. Avoid moisturizers with mineral oil it them, these will only clog the pores and coat the skin.

A good moisturizer will actually penetrate the outer layer of the skin to moisturize from the inside
out.

Moisturizer formulated for oily skin will actually slow down the oil production.
